10Joan Roca

Growing up in a family whose business is restaurant, Joan Roca and his brothers are destined to be chefs. At an early age, Joan used to help his parents in their restaurant before he decided that he wants to be a chef. Today, chef Roca and his two brothers are the chefs of their own restaurant, El Celler de Can Roca. Each chef has their own special skills, his brother Josep is the sommelier and Jordi is the pastry chef. Together, the Roca brothers serve food with both modern and traditional techniques. Two of their famous cooking techniques are Distillation and Perfume-Cooking. This restaurant was named the best restaurant in the world twice by the Restaurant Magazine.

Many famous chefs today all had cooking as their dream profession, but things were different with Spanish chef Paco Perez. As a kid, he wanted to be a footballer before his true passion and talent began to show. He started working at his family’s tapas bar when he was 12 years old, and that was when he knew he loved cooking. Two of his Michelin stars are in Miramar restaurant in LLanca which is his first restaurant. Another two stars are in Enoteca restaurant in Hotel Arts Barcelona, and the last star is in Restaurante 5 in Germany.

With a passion to be a chef at a young age, chef Yoshitake learned to cook and prepare his lunchbox for school every day. When his father said he should consider becoming a sushi chef, he started to work part-time at a sushi restaurant. Today, this Japanese chef has 6 Michelin stars with just only 2 restaurants. One is a seven-seater sushi bar in Tokyo known as Sushi Yoshitake and another is Sushi Shikon in Hong Kong. He runs the restaurant in Ginza, Tokyo where he creates the dishes right in front of the diners. He welcomes conversation during the cooking, but taking photographs while dining is not permitted. Chef Yoshitake wants his diners to taste the food from the efforts that his team created and put without distraction.

He then opened his first restaurant 5 years later, and it received 2 Michelin stars. After that, he keeps collecting his stars from his signature cuisines. Chef Gagnaire marks his culinary by dish and year, and the evolution of his dish keeps on moving. Currently, he has 18 gastronomic restaurants around the world. One of them is Rue Balzac, in Paris, with 3 Michelin stars for over two decades.
